Mary M. Olson

Mary Olson

I'm a PhD student at MIT Sloan in the Institute for Work and Employment Research, with interests in labor market inequality and applied microeconomics. I focus on how technological shocks, policy changes, and structural economic shifts shape worker outcomes across regions and demographic groups.

I hold a BA from Columbia University in Economics. I was named a 2024 Marshall Scholar, through which I completed an MSc Economics and MSc in Economic History from the London School of Economics (LSE). My MSc Economic History thesis received the department prize for best dissertation.
